The goal of Autist Art is to promote awareness, support, and understanding of the wide spectrum of autistic experience and Autistic activism; to be a form of visual activism for Autistic civil rights. Autist Art hopes to also promote a new kind of "Autism Awareness": not cure-oriented, but a celebration of autistic people, of all ages, all abilities, all along the autism spectrum. Autistic people are children and adults; male and female; "Autistic" and "Aspergers"; verbal and nonverbal. Autism is called a spectrum for a reason!
